History Of The Law Of Attraction

Before you embark on the fantastic journey towards proper illumination on the Law of Attraction. You must understand that you can apply it to your life. And it can be effective if you use the correct tools.

The beliefs and practices in this law have been igniting the lives of great individuals throughout history. The Law of Attraction’s main principles can be discovered in the teachings of many religious groups and civilizations.

An ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu, once said: “Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words; they become your actions. Watch your actions; they become your habits. Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”

A hundred years back, the Law of Attraction was first believed to have been also taught to man by the immortal Buddha. The concept that we attract what we put out to the Universe has been around since ancient times. And many credit Buddha with first introducing this notion to the world.

It’s believed he wanted it to be also known that ‘what you have become is what you have thought,’ a profound intrinsic belief in the Law of Attraction. This concept spread to western culture also came to the term ‘Karma,’ a belief prevalent throughout various civilizations.

Over the centuries, it’s been a common understanding amongst many that what you give out to the world. Be it happiness or anger, love or hate, can return to your own life in the end.

This easy-to-follow, familiar and straightforward concept has been so popular among many for many years. It reveals that the idea of the power of attraction is not new whatsoever. It’s already recognizable to many of us in a variety of ways.

What does the law of attraction mean?

The Law of Attraction means that whatever comes into your life is what you attract.

Everything around you is created and formed from energy. Thus, the thoughts you have are destined to manifest into reality. If you’re thinking positively, positive things are likely to come into your life—and you’re more likely to notice. If you focus on the negative, negative things are bound to show up.

Using the Law of Attraction, we ask the Universe for exactly what we want and trust that they will show up.

Simply put it into this, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract whatever you are focusing on into your life. Ask, and you will receive.

Regardless of age, gender, nationality, or religion. It’s believed that everyone is susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe. This universal law includes the Law of Attraction.

This law uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in your thoughts and materialize them into reality.

The Law of Attraction imposes that whatever can be held in the mind’s eye is achievable if you take action on a plan to get to where you want to be.

How does the law of attraction work?

how does the law of attraction work

One of life’s biggest mysteries is the Law of Attraction. Very few people are fully aware of how much of an impact the Law of Attraction has on their day-to-day life.

Right this very instant, your life is being influenced by universal forces of which the most potent of all — The Law of Attraction. In likeness with the Law of Gravity, it’s always in effect, impacting your life in more ways than you can imagine.

Whether you are doing it unknowingly or knowingly. Every second of your existence, you are acting as a human magnet. Sending out your thoughts, emotions and attracting back more of what you have put out.

The law of attraction operates under the following three main principles:

Like attracts like:

Working with the law of attraction to manifest your dreams may sound straightforward. But it actually involves careful intention, action, and a degree of surrender.

Like attracts like—even if we’re not conscious of it. We’re always “attracting” positivity or negativity based on the energy we’re putting out ourselves.

“We are all like magnets, both reflecting and attracting what we hold in our thoughts,” explains spiritual author Shannon Kaiser.

Or, as professional intuitive Tanya Carroll Richardson puts it, the law of attraction is like “putting in an order with Spirit. Then Spirit will look around to find the best match for your manifestation request.”

Nature abhors a vacuum:

This principle suggests that space cannot exist and always needs to be also filled by something. As such, it’s essential to make space for positive change in your life by clearing out negativity.

Like decluttering your desk or bedroom, your mind needs decluttering, too, so you have room to attract new things that better serve you.

The present is always perfect:

The third main principle and last aspect of the law of attraction is perfecting the present moment.

It lets you know that there will always be things to be unhappy about if you look for them. However, rather than dwelling on things going wrong, finding ways to make things better is fundamental. The key here is shifting your reality into one that attracts what you desire.

That is not to say you cannot acknowledge negativity or feel its emotions. (That gets into spiritual bypassing or toxic positivity territory.) Instead, it’s about doing what you can at the moment to improve any negative situation and letting the rest go.

How to apply the law of attraction?

Once you have understood the power of attraction and the astounding possibilities that life has to offer. It is safe to say, your entire future is yours to create. Plus, you have learned how to effectively apply the law of attraction to your everyday life.

Here are a few ways you can incorporate the power of positivity into your life today:

  1. Visualize.

Visualization is such a powerful tool for bringing a desire or an idea into reality. You can mentally picture the future you seek and in pursuit. You can realize it into the physical realm by drawing or sketching it out (artistic skill not required). Visualizing your goals will help keep you inspired and motivated.

  1. Keep a gratitude journal.

Given that like attracts like, focusing on the things you are grateful for on purpose can invite and welcome more abundance into your life.

  1. Speak it into existence.

One way to bring your desires out of your head and into reality is to voice and declare them aloud. This action is a good practice if you are just getting started.

  1. Watch for synchronicities.

Synchronicities are those meaningful “coincidences” that seems to be speaking of something miraculous. For example, angel numbers and signs. If synchronicities related to your goal and vision keep coming up, it is probably a sign that you are on the right track.

  1. Reframe a scarcity mindset.

When we are seeking something we do not yet have, it is easy to get caught in a cycle of lack and scarcity. But focusing on your lack of happiness, lack of love, lack of money, etc., only reinforces that lack. Remember to feel as if you are already where you want to be. As Kaiser says, “Let go of how you think things ‘should’ go, and trust the universe to work its magic, remaining open to whatever the universe thinks is best.”

Methods and tips in manifesting with the law of attraction

Alright, now that you are pretty acquainted with the basics of what is the law of attraction and how does it work. It’s time you sharpen your knowledge on the law of attraction and manifestation. There is a little more to the Law of Attraction that you need to know.

Going outside and giving the sky a list of your demands will not make you any progress. To help manifest and attract what you want into your life, you have to change your thought processes and actions.

Here are some methods to help manifest your desires faster to attract the life you want.

Vision Board

If you are a visual learner, a vision board is a perfect way to manifest your dream life.

Grab some old magazines, newspapers, and poster board or look for images online and have them printed out. Find photos of what you wish to have in your life, like your dream house, places you want to travel to, whatever it is that you want. Then, make a collage out from them.

Put the vision board somewhere visible to you, like placing it near your desk or hanging it next to your bed. Don’t have space for it? Use an image collage app on your phone to make a collage of the pictures you want, then use it as your phone’s background or screensaver.

Mantra Meditations

mantra meditations

Mantras are excellent support for manifestation because you speak what you want into existence.

Decide on a simple phrase or an affirmation you want to use as your mantra during meditations. After that, for ten to twenty minutes a day, right after you wake and before you go to sleep, meditate on that mantra.

Make sure you are saying it in the present tense. Clear your mind of everything but your mantra and the feelings that come with it.

Manifestation Playlist

If you’re a music enthusiast or lover, a manifestation song playlist can be an excellent course of action to help attract what you desire.

Make a playlist of all the songs that give you the feelings you want to be experiencing. For example, if you want to attract a new relationship, make a playlist of all your favorite love songs. If you want to move to a new city, a playlist of songs about what that city is also known for is in order.

Listen to your playlist either when you first wake up, before you go to bed, or just throughout the day. Focus on the vibes of each song while listening.

33×3 Manifestation Method

Using a notebook and a pen, write down in specific what you desire 33 times using the present tense — as if you already have it. As an example, if you want to manifest a job, write “I’m so ecstatic and thankful for my new job” 33 times. While you’re writing, try to visualize the job you want and how good it feels to have it. Don’t focus so much on how you will acquire it.

Furthermore, when you’ve written your desire 33 times, end it with, “So let it be, at this moment. Thank you so much for this gift. I know it’s for my highest good,” and sign your name.

Carry on with this method for two more days, dating each sheet before you start. After three steady days have passed, forget about it. Live your life, trusting the Universe that what you want is coming.

This action or practice could be also done in 55×5, 44×4 or 22×2, and even 11×1 method—whatever feels right to you.

Tips in Manifesting

Detach from the outcome.

The most significant problem people have with manifestation is that they are too focused on the result. Some people even surrender if what they desire doesn’t happen in an instant.

Manifestation is a complete trust fall with the Universe and you. Believe and have faith that whatever you ask for will happen. And as you continue to go about your life, trust that the Universe is working on it.

Would you be happy if someone kept asking you to do something, then constantly nagged you about it? Of course not—and the Universe doesn’t like it either. So be patient.

Use one shortcut per desire.

You can use all the manifestation methods to attract what you want, but do not use them all for one desire.

For instance, you can use the manifestation playlist to attract a new partner and use the 33×3 method to attract a new job. But do not use the mantra meditation and 33×3 practice at the same time to attract more money.

Using more than one method for one desire shows that you don’t trust the Universe enough to give you what you want. It is fundamental that you use one method for one wish. Trust is key.

Express gratitude.

express gratitude

If you receive a gift from someone, the first thing you do and the initial response you say is “Thank you,” right?

If you want something, keep in mind to thank the Universe for helping you out.

Donating to charity foundations, helping others and the less fortunate. Or even writing a letter to the Universe are great ways to express your immense gratitude.

Remember, you’re acting like you already have what you want, so give the universe gratitude in advance.

What is the secret of the law of attraction?

Life is a blank canvas of limitless possibilities; you are in control of what the finished picture could look like.

No matter what you’re seeking to achieve in life or have. If you can hang on to an idea and visualize it for yourself in the mind’s eye, you can have it and make it yours to own. This is only possible with some effort on your part.

While it may sound improbable or too good to be true—and can take a lot of time to get the hang of. At its inner core, the law of attraction is about shifting your mindset to one of abundance.

Speaking and calling in what you want into existence and aligning your thoughts and actions with your desires and wishes. When you do these things, you can become the author of your life and attract a host of countless possibilities.
